This might be one of the reasons why some people complain that their Facebook account has been hacked because some apps they installed are busy taking their account information.

According to a new research, 9 Google Play apps have been taking Facebook logins and passwords from users, with the apps having been downloaded over 5.8 million times.

These apps that stole your password and login information were:

Dr. Web, a malware specialist, says that the apps used a total of five malware types, three of which were native to Android and two others used the Google Flutter framework.

Because all of the variants used the same configuration file formats and JavaScript code, they were categorized together as a trojan.

According to Dr. Web, such applications appear to be legitimate. they offer basic photo editing features and the likes.. However, the creators of these apps are stealing Facebook account information. Google was notified, and these apps are no longer available on the Google Play store.

If you've downloaded any of the above-mentioned apps, you should remove them, scan your device with a strong anti-virus, and, most importantly, reset your password to prevent your Facebook account from being hacked.
