Prior to the suspension of MASTERCARD transactions by other banks in Nigeria two months ago, GTBank has finally joined other banks in suspending international transactions via Mastercard.
And now the bank has declared that it will take effect from December 31, 2022, you won't be able to use your Naira Mastercard for transactions online, POS transaction. It's really a sad news for us to end the year.
The following is what is written in an email to its customers:
We write to inform you that you will no longer be able to use your Naira MasterCard for international online and POS transactions effective 31st Dec 2022.
Kindly note that you can use your GTBank dollar card for all your international spending requirements.
You can use Vesti to sign up for a virtual dollar card if you don't have a dollar account. ProvidusBank verve card now offers global payments, according to the recent news.
